Publication: Advances in Developing Human Resources
Focus/Goals of the journal: Advances in Developing Human Resources (ADHR), published bi-monthly, focuses on the issues that help you work more effectively in human resource development. The journal spans the realms of performance, learning, and integrity within an organizational context. Balancing theory and practice, each issue of the journal is devoted to a different topic central to the development of human resources.
Submission guidelines: The August 2010 issue had many interesting articles regarding employment and ADA, but there were not guidelines for submission. They are currently recruiting for an Associate Editor. The site does not contain much information.

________
Publication: Educational Researcher
Focus/Goals of the journal: Educational Researcher publishes scholarly articles that are of general significance to the education research community and that come from a wide range of areas of education research and related disciplines. ER aims to make major programmatic research and new findings of broad importance widely accessible. It is published nine times per year.
Submission guidelines
ER encourages submissions of three types of research articles—feature articles, reviews/essays, and briefs. Technical comments may also be submitted. In addition, ER publishes commentary articles under the demarcations of policy forum, letters, and books et al.
Researchers who intend to submit material for publication by AERA should consult the Standards for Reporting on Empirical Social Science Research in AERA Publications, adopted by the AERA Council in 2006. Submission of a manuscript implies commitment to publish in the journal. Authors submitting to the journal should not simultaneously submit the manuscript to another journal, nor should the manuscript have been published elsewhere in substantially similar form or with substantially similar content. Authors in doubt about what constitutes prior publication should consult the editor. Submit all manuscripts electronically to the editorial team at http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/edr.
Is this a peer reviewed journal? Could not determine from the description.
Is the journal online? Yes
How is the journal and organization useful to you and your career? Were you aware of the organizations/journals that you researched?
The journal is beneficial in that it offers a wide range of published articles related to educational topics, it is published 9 times per year and it is easily accessed online. Easy access to a variety of current research topics makes continuing education and professional research easier. It also provides an opportunity for publication. I was not aware of this organization or publication before this assignment.
